Gery Tomassoni MD, FHRS, FACC

Dr. Gery F. Tomassoni is a highly experienced cardiac electrophysiologist with over three decades of clinical and research expertise in diagnosing and treating complex heart rhythm disorders. He practices with Baptist Health Medical Group Cardiology in Lexington, Kentucky, where he also serves in leadership roles within the electrophysiology program and cardiovascular research efforts.

Dr. Tomassoni earned his medical degree from Pennsylvania State College of Medicine and completed his residency in internal medicine at University Hospitals of Cleveland. He pursued advanced fellowship training in cardiovascular medicine and clinical cardiac electrophysiology at Duke University School of Medicine, solidifying his subspecialty focus on heart rhythm disorders.

Board-certified in clinical cardiac electrophysiology through the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Tomassoni specializes in the diagnosis and management of arrhythmias, catheter ablation procedures, implantable cardiac devices (including pacemakers and ICDs), and comprehensive heart failure care. He is known for incorporating leading technologies into practice, including advanced mapping and ablation tools to improve procedural accuracy and outcomes.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Tomassoni is deeply involved in cardiovascular research, having authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and served as principal investigator in a wide range of clinical trials focused on electrophysiology and heart rhythm therapies. He has also contributed to innovations in robotic navigation for cardiac procedures and continues to advance care quality through both clinical practice and scientific inquiry.
