Gere Sunder-plassmann MD

Prof. Sunder-Plassmann was born in Vienna in 1960, studied medicine there and completed his training as a specialist in internal medicine at the First Medical University Clinic (Klinik Deutsch). 1994 followed the specialist examination for nephrology and the habilitation for internal medicine. He is currently a professor at the Division of Nephrology and Dialysis, University Department of Internal Medicine III, Medical University of Vienna.

Scientific interests focus on cardiovascular risk factors, metabolism and nutrition, diagnosis and treatment of anemia in renal insufficiency, hereditary kidney disease, pharmacogenetics and renal replacement therapy including kidney transplantation.

He has published more than 300 articles or book chapters and was a member of the Editorial Board of American Journal of Kidney Disease and Clinical Nephrology. He was also Guest Editor for Kidney International and Nephrology, Dialysis & Transplantation.
