Professor Geraldine McCarthy has ongoing collaboration with DCU Biomedical Diagnostics Institute project MobiMate (mobile-phone enabled remote chronic disease management) funded by Enterprise Ireland, PI Dr Conor Burke. Continuation of collaboration with Prof Dermot Kenny RCSI on platelet hyperreactivity in inflammatory arthritis. Continuation of collaboration with Dr Aisling Dunne/Prof Kingston Mills at TCD in relation to the pathologic effects of BCP crystals in osteoarthritis. Collaboration with Dr Eamonn Molloy St Vincents University Hospital and Prof Conor Murphy RVEEH in relation to giant cell arteritis. She is currently a PI in an international study of gout (SUGAR) funded by the American College of Rheumatology and the European League Against Rheumatism. She is a member of a taskforce for the revision of EULAR fibromyalgia management guidelines.
