Dr. Carr-White is a Consultant Cardiologist at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital, where he is the clinical lead for cardiology as well as the clinical lead for heart failure and inherited cardiac diseases. He also has additional expertise in cardiac imaging (stress echo, TOE, cardiac MRI, and cardiac CT) and valvular heart disease.

After qualifying from St George’s hospital with University of London honors in Medicine, Dr. Carr-White trained in general medicine at the Brompton, Hammersmith and St Mary’s hospital before becoming a member of the Royal College of Physicians in 1996. He then obtained a Ph.D. in the mechanics of ventricular function from the Brompton Hospital in 2000. Dr. Carr-White’s specialty cardiology training was undertaken at both the Brompton Hospital and Guy’s and St. Thomas’ hospitals. He obtained his higher certification in cardiology and general medicine in 2006.

He was appointed as a consultant at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital in March 2006. He has an active research programme in heart failure, inherited cardiac diseases and cardiac imaging with over 75 peer-reviewed publications and several ongoing large grants. He regularly lectures both nationally and internationally and advises NHS England as heart failure and inherited cardiac diseases expert on their national advisory board.
