Dr. Geraint Lewis was Senior Fellow at the Nuffield Trust between June 2009 and December 2011. Following a sabbatical in Chicago as Senior Director, Outcomes and Analytics, at Walgreens in 2012, he is now Chief Data Officer at NHS England.
Dr. Geraint trained in medicine at Cambridge University and worked in acute medicine and emergency medicine in the UK and Australia before specialising in public health, with a particular interest in international health policy, predictive modelling and case management.
Working at Croydon Primary Care Trust between 2004 and 2006 he developed and implemented the Virtual Wards project. The scheme won an unprecedented four prizes at the Health Service Journal Awards in November 2006 and was the overall winner of The Guardian Public Services Awards, 2007.
