Georgia J. Anetzberger, PhD, ACSW, LISW, is a consultant in private practice, Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University, and Fellow in the Gerontological Society of America. She has a PhD in social welfare and master’s degrees in both applied social sciences and anthropology from Case Western Reserve University. Her bachelor’s degree in social work is from The Ohio State University.

Dr. Anetzberger has spent over thirty-five years addressing the problem of elder abuse, initially as an adult protective services worker and most recently as a researcher, administrator, and educator concerned with the dynamics and consequences of elder abuse situations. Her past employment includes: Vice President for Community Services with the Benjamin Rose Institute, Director of the Western Reserve Geriatric Education Center, Executive Director of the Western Reserve Area Agency on Aging, Research Associate for the Visiting Nurse Association Healthcare Partners of Ohio, Senior Planning Associate for the Federation for Community Planning, and Supervisor of Adult Services for the Geauga County Welfare Department, all located in Greater Cleveland, Ohio. She has also held full-time faculty appointments at Cleveland State University and Kent State University.
