Dr. George Paul Topulos is an anesthesiologist in the Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative and Pain at Medicine Brigham and Women's Hospital, and an Associate Professor of Anaesthesia at Harvard Medical School. He is also the Director of Educational Programs for the Medical School's Department of Continuing Education. Dr. Topulos completed his undergraduate education in the philosophy of religion at Bucknell University. He attended medical school at the University of Massachusetts, and after two years as a surgical resident at the University of Minnesota, he completed his anesthesiology residency at Brigham and Women's Hospital. He then completed a two year NIH-supported research fellow in respiratory physiology at the Harvard School of Public Health. Dr. Topulos is the Director of Anesthesia Review and Update an annual five-day anesthesia review course, which attracts roughly 300 anesthesiologists from around the world. The course is sponsored by the Harvard Medical School Departments of Anaesthesia and Continuing Medical Education.
