George Papadatos MSc, PhD

George is a Director of Discovery Data Strategy in GSK R&D. There he leads a global team covering the e2e spectrum from data strategy, data flows, data integration, data products, data tools and data transformation. George received his MSc and Ph.D. in Chemoinformatics from the University of Sheffield, UK. During his Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at Eli Lilly, George worked with Research IT on scaling up novel data mining algorithms into enterprise solutions for computer-aided medicinal chemistry. He then joined the European Bioinformatics Institute (EMBL-EBI) where he was responsible for the content, quality, support and further development of world-class SAR, chemogenomics and patent chemistry databases, such as ChEMBL and SureChEMBL, as well as being a globetrotting evangelist for novel text and data mining and informatics applications. George has published more than 50 scientific papers and book chapters.
