George L. Daikos received his medical degree from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece. He completed an Internal Medicine Residency at Wayne State University,Detroit, MI and an Infectious Diseases Fellowship at the University of Illinois, Chicago, IL. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases. Currently, he is Professor of Medicine and Infectious Diseasesand the Director of the First Department of Medicine at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. His research focuses on health care associated infections, antimicrobial resistance, and the molecular epidemiology of bacterial infections.
