George Fountzilas MD

Professor George Fountzilas was for a number of years Director of the Department of Pathological Oncology at the University Hospital "Papageorgiou", of the Medical School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. In addition to his other research activities, he has been directing the Molecular Oncology Laboratory in Thessaloniki since 2009. His main scientific interest is in clinical and translational research on breast, brain, and cervical cancers, in the context of personalized medicine. His articles have been published in well-known medical journals, such as Annals of Oncology, Nature Genetics, and Lancet Oncology. He pioneered and participated in a large number of clinical trials, and was awarded many scientific awards.
