Emmett Lynskey is a board-certified diagnostic radiologist with additional certification in vascular and interventional radiology. Having attended Georgetown University for his medical degree, he has been committed to serving the patients of Medstar Georgetown since finishing his fellowship in 2013.

Dr. Lynskey's philosophy of care comes from his training at Georgetown and his mentors throughout the Georgetown community. He strives to treat each patient as if they were his own family and attempts to give every family coming to him for consultation the benefit of a clear explanation and a caring hand during what can be a very confusing and scary time in a patient's life.

In addition to his teaching responsibilities to fellows and residents, Dr. Lynskey has specific interests in the management of portal hypertension and portal thrombosis with transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunts (TIPS) and balloon retrograde transvenous obliteration of varicies (BRTO). He also has a specialized interest in image-guided pain management and performs targeted nerve blocks and ablation to treat both chronic pain and acute pain caused by cancer.

Dr. Lynskey, an assistant professor in Radiology, has been recognized for his efforts by being named MedStar Georgetown Associate of the Month for May 2015 and Special Procedures Teacher of the Year 2013-2014 and 2017-2018.
