Dr. Veenhuyzen was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba where he went to medical school and completed training in Internal Medicine and Cardiology. He completed further training in Cardiac Electrophysiology at the University of Calgary, University of Alabama in Birmingham, and Brigham & Women's Hospital at Harvard University. His clinical and research interests are in catheter ablation therapy for cardiac arrhythmias. He is the co-author of a recent book on catheter ablation of persistent atrial fibrillation, and has been the recipient of the "Educator of the Year" award by Libin Cardiology Trainees.
