George Andrikopoulos MD, PhD

George Andrikopoulos is a cardiologist who practices electrophysiology. He was trained on genetics of cardiovascular diseases as a research fellow of the European Society of Cardiology and he has a PhD on genetics from the University of Athens Medical School. He is scientific advisor of the Hellenic Heart Foundation, member of the board of Cardiovascular Research Society and he is president of the Institute for the study of Thrombosis and Antithrombotic treatment (ISETAT).

He has published manuscripts in some of the most prestigious medical journals (New England Journal of Medicine, JAMA, Annals of Internal Medicine, Circulation, European Heart Journal, Europace, etc) and reviews submitted papers for many prestigious cardiological journals. He was principal investigator in many multicenter clinical studies and actively participated in the introduction in our country of many novel therapies in cardiology and specifically in the introduction of many technological advances in the field of electrophysiology.
