Dr. Scangas is a board-certified otolaryngologist and Harvard fellowship-trained rhinologist, who is committed to comprehensive sinus care. Dr. Scangas combines his clinical interest in caring for patients with diseases of the nose and sinuses with his research on medical and surgical outcomes, towards the ultimate goal of improving the quality of life for his patients.

Dr. George Scangas grew up locally in Peabody, Massachusetts. He attended St. John’s Preparatory School in Danvers, Massachusetts, where he graduated as the Salutatorian. He was accepted into the prestigious Biomedical Engineering major at the University of Pennsylvania, where he graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science and Engineering as well as Minors in Biology and Chemistry.

He earned his M.D. from the University of Pennsylvania with Alpha Omega Alpha Honors distinction. From there, he was accepted into the Harvard Otolaryngology Residency program where he completed his training at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital, and Boston Children’s Hospital. He was then accepted into the Harvard fellowship in Rhinology / Endoscopic Skull Base Surgery.
