Geoffrey E. Rose BSc(Hons), MBBS, MRCP, FRCS, FRCOphth

Graduated as Bachelor of Science in Pharmacology, with first-class honours, in 1976. I qualified in Medicine at King’s College Hospital, London, in 1979 and subsequently gained experience in Internal Medicine with award of Membership of the Royal College of Physicians in 1982. Postgraduate ophthalmic training was undertaken at King’s College Hospital, St Thomas Hospital and Moorfields Eye Hospital, with award of Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in 1985 and the Royal College of Ophthalmologists at its foundation in 1988. In 1990 the University of London granted me an MS doctorate for research on corneal endothelial changes after cataract surgery and, in 2004, awarded me the highest university degree with a Doctor of Science in Ophthalmology and Ophthalmic Surgery.
