Dr Geoffrey Hill is a Haematologist, Professor at Griffith University, University of Western Australia and the University of Queensland. He is a National Health and Medical Research Council Fellow, the Head of Immunology and Principal Research Fellow at the Queensland Institute of Medical Research (NHMRC) where he is the lab head for Bone Marrow Transplantation Research. Dr Hill is a renowned researcher both on a national and international level, and was awarded the Queenslander of the Year Award in 2005 for his contribution to advances in the field of bone marrow transplantation. His major research interests are stem cell transplantation and tolerance, Graft-versus-Host disease and Murine models of GVHD, GVL and immunotherapy.

He completed his undergraduate training at the University of Auckland in 1988 and completed his internship and residencies across New Zealand, the UK and the USA. From 1996 to 1999 he was a research fellow at the prestigious Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston (Harvard University) before he was appointed as an NHMRC Practitioner Fellow at the Mater Medical Research Institute in Brisbane. From 2001 to 2006 he was a Wellcome Trust Senior Overseas Research Fellow with the Queensland Institute of Medical Research and is currently an ongoing NHMRC fellow. He has been an active Haematologist and Transplant Physician at The Royal Brisbane Hospital and Mater Private Hospital since 2001.
