Genevieve Santillanes grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She attended Occidental College in Los Angeles for her undergraduate education and then attended medical school at the University of New Mexico. She then returned to Southern California to complete her residency in Pediatrics at Harbor-UCLA. She continued at Harbor-UCLA for a chief residency year and a Pediatric Emergency Medicine fellowship. Dr. Santillanes joined the Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine at USC in 2009 and currently holds an appointment as an Associate Professor of Clinical Emergency Medicine at the Keck School of Medicine. Her research interests include pediatric mental health emergencies and pre-hospital emergency medical services for children.
