Dr. Genevieve Bondy is a federal research scientist and head of the Molecular and Applied Toxicology Section in the Regulatory Toxicology Research Division of Health Canada’s Food Directorate. She obtained her Ph.D. in toxicology from the University of Guelph (Ontario, Canada) and conducted postdoctoral research on mycotoxin immunotoxicology at Michigan State University.

Her Section is responsible for conducting toxicology studies in support of hazard characterization for a wide range of chemical contaminants and food constituents that are considered regulatory priorities for Health Canada. In her own laboratories, her focus is on the toxicology and immunotoxicology of mycotoxins, food additives, nanomaterials, and flame retardants. She has research experience with a wide range of in vivo and in vitro models and has conducted sub-chronic, chronic, and developmental toxicology studies using a variety of rodent models. She has authored or co-authored more than 60 publications. She is the Past President of the Society of Toxicology of Canada and recently co-chaired the 2015 Gordon Research Conference on Mycotoxins and Phycotoxins.
