Gene George Hong, M.D., is a specialist in internal medicine and medical acupuncture practicing at the Oregon Acupuncture Center in Portland, Oregon, since 1993.
Dr. Hong received his medical acupuncture training at the China International Acupuncture Training Centre in Beijing and is board certified by the American Board of Medical Acupuncture. Dr. Hong received his medical degree from Stanford Medical School in 1989, and completed his internal medicine residency at Legacy Emanuel Hospital in Portland.
Dr. Hong serves on the Board of the American Board of Medical Acupuncture, a national medical board for physicians who practice acupuncture. He also holds board membership at several other organizations including the Oregon Academy of Medical Acupuncture and the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine. He has served as an advisor for NIH research projects at the Kaiser Permanente Center for Health Research and Oregon Health and Science University. He is a clinical preceptor for the medical students from Oregon Health and Science University and resident physicians from Legacy Health Systems Residency Training programs. He has published on the history and scientific attributes of acupuncture.
