Gemma Hurley has been a Registered General Nurse (RGN) since 1990 and has worked as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner in primary care settings across the country since 2000. She has been a senior lecturer at St. Georges University of London and Kingston University since 2006 and has led and taught on a variety of modules such Clinical reasoning in physical assessment and Advance Practice. As an experienced advanced nurse practitioner, she has fused her expert knowledge with academic positions to deliver pedagogical styles that are innovative, current and highly relevant to practice.
She is the pathway leader for both the Advanced Practice/ Community and Integrated Care pathways that deliver a variety of modules that nurture the healthcare practitioner's capability that is essential for practice. She is presently undertaking her doctoral study in education as she is continually endeavouring to explore and enhance the teaching and learning experience.
