Gaynor Harrison works across the primary/secondary care interface as a senior practice nurse, genetic diabetes nurse (South Wales) and independent diabetes specialist nurse.
As part of an MSc in Ageing Health and Disease, Gaynor undertook a two-armed systematic review of the health beliefs of elderly people from black and ethnic (BME) groups, and the barriers perceived by healthcare professionals in providing education and support for diagnosis and ongoing management of diabetes in this group.
She is recently published in the Journal of Diabetes Nursing on this subject. Gaynor is also involved in consultancy and education programmes across the UK. She also works freelance for Diabetes UK.
