Dr. Gaya Amarasinghe studies pathogens that have a high impact on the health systems in Africa, such as Ebola. Dr. Amarasinghe, a professor of pathology & immunology, biochemistry & molecular biophysics, and molecular microbiology at the School of Medicine, is also able to evaluate and develop countermeasures for these diseases.
