Gauree Gupta Konijeti, MD, is a gastroenterologist specializing in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), including Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, in San Diego. She trained in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School, completed her internal medicine residency at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, and attended medical school at the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Konijeti sees patients at all stages of Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis, whether a new or longstanding diagnosis, as well as those with a history of J pouch, or ileal pouch anal anastomosis, Koch pouch, end ileostomy, and who need help planning pregnancy or nursing in the setting of IBD. She also has a strong interest in diet and nutrition in IBD. She also works closely with colorectal surgery, integrative medicine, nutrition, radiology, and enterostomal specialists and other specialists to provide state-of-the-art care for patients with IBD.
Dr. Konijeti’s other clinical interests include celiac disease, microscopic colitis (including lymphocytic colitis and collagenous colitis), colon cancer, eosinophilic esophagitis and eosinophilic gastroenteritis. She is also experienced with evaluating and treating diarrhea, constipation and abnormal liver tests.
