Gary Richard Strichartz is a professor of Anesthesiology at the Brigham and Women's Hospital. Dr. Strichartz has published more than 160 original, peer-reviewed papers and more than 50 book chapters and reviews, taught medical pharmacology at Harvard and MIT for 25 years, and served as a member and chair of an NIH Scientific Review Group on pain and chemical senses. Most recently he co-founded the Women's Pain Group at Brigham & Women's Hospital, to study gender-related differences in pain processing. He also serves part-time as a Chaplain at Brigham & Women's Hospital and will graduate next year from Andover Newton Theological School with a Masters of Divinity degree.
