Gary Heigel BA

Gary is the Department Chair of Emergency Services and the Paramedic Program Director at Rogue Community College in Southern Oregon. Gary has been a paramedic since 1984 and has extensive experience in both urban and rural EMS systems. He has been a paramedic, Field Training Officer, Field Supervisor, Flight Medic, Operations Director, and a full-time educator since 2004. He has presented at regional, state, and national EMS conferences, written for JEMS magazine and worked as an EMS Expert Witness. Gary is a member of the Oregon EMS Education Consortium, the Oregon State EMS Committee, the Jackson County EMS Committee, and is the Chair of the Josephine County EMS Advisory Board. In 2014, Gary was selected as the Oregon EMS Educator of the year.
