Fred H. RubinMD
After receiving his A.B. and M.D., Dr. Rubin trained in internal medicine at Royal Victoria Hospital then completed a fellowship in Medicine at Mass. General Hospital in Boston. He is certified as a specialist in both Internal Medicine and Geriatrics by both the American Board of Internal Medicine and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. In 1987, Dr. Rubin moved to Pittsburgh and to UPMC Shadyside, where he founded the Division of Gerontology, the Senior Care Institute, and the fellowship program in Geriatric Medicine. He co-founded the Pennsylvania/West Virginia Geriatrics Society, the regional Update in Geriatrics continuing medical education program, and Pittsburgh’s Town Meeting for Seniors. He presently serves as Chairman of the Department of Medicine at UPMC Shadyside. He has been listed in both Best Doctors in America and Consumer’s Guide to Top Doctors since the creation of these registries.
