Fred Lopez MD, MACP

Dr. Lopez is the Richard Vial Professor and Vice Chair in the Department of Medicine at the LSU School of Medicine-New Orleans. A native of New Orleans, he received his undergraduate degree from Stanford University and his medical degree from LSU. He returned to Stanford University where he was an intern, resident and chief resident in Internal Medicine and a fellow in Infectious Diseases. He has written more than 100 journal articles and book chapters. He is co-editor of the textbook "Infectious Diseases: Emergency Department Diagnosis & Management".
