Dr. Frazier W. Frantz, MD, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery and serves as Medical Director of the Chest Wall Reconstruction Program at Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU. In his leadership role, he oversees the Chest Wall Reconstruction Program, guiding multidisciplinary care for patients with complex chest wall conditions and advancing specialized surgical services.
Dr. Frantz earned his Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree and completed residency training in General Surgery, followed by fellowship training in Pediatric Surgery, equipping him with advanced expertise in surgical care for infants, children, and adolescents. His clinical specialization includes pediatric surgery with a focused interest in chest wall deformities and reconstruction, as well as the management of congenital anomalies and complex surgical conditions in children. He combines academic medicine with program leadership to enhance surgical outcomes and education within the Department of Surgery.
