Fanziska Denk’s main research interest is exploring the potential link between epigenetic mechanisms and the development of chronic pain. Does epigenetics make certain individuals more vulnerable to pain or prolong their pain? To address these questions, Franziska uses transgenic mouse models and high-throughput molecular analyses, such as RNA-seq and ChIP-seq, on sorted cell populations.
Franziska studied Experimental Psychology at the University of Oxford and completed her DPhil there in 2009 studying alternative splicing of the tau protein in neurodegenerative disease
