Dr. Michota is head of the Section of Hospital Medicine at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Ohio, and serves as an Associate program director for the Internal Medicine Residency Program. Dr. Michota also holds the rank of Associate Professor of Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine. He graduated from The Ohio State University College of Medicine and completed his postgraduate work at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation. He is a former chief medical resident, and has been a hospitalist in the Department of General Internal Medicine at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation for the past 8 years. Dr. Michota has extensive clinical experience in both acute and subacute inpatient settings.
He is a member of the United States Medical Licensing Examination Step 3 Interdisciplinary Review Committee, and chairman of the United States Medical Licensing Examination Step 3 Test Material Development Committee for Utilization of Resources. He is also a member of the Society of Hospital Medicine’s Education and Research Committees, and a member of the National Council for Leadership on Thrombosis Awareness and Management.
Dr. Michota has published and presented nationally on the topics of preoperative evaluation, congestive heart failure, venous thrombosis, diagnostic testing, and hospital medicine.
