Dr. Rybicki is Professor and Chair of Radiology at the University of Ottawa and Chief of Medical Imaging at The Ottawa Hospital. He has authored over 250 peer-review publications. He globally introduced wide-area detector CT to radiology in 2007 and published the initial papers in the field. In 2008 Dr. Rybicki identified the relationship between first pass CT arterial enhancement and blood flow. Both CT and MR developments from his laboratory are now in clinical practice. Dr. Rybicki has delivered over 300 invited lectures. He has trained a wide gamut of students and is internationally recognized as a mentor for radiology clinician-scientists.

Dr. Rybicki is the Chairperson for the American College of Radiology (ACR) Metrics Committee. Dr. Rybicki is also Vascular Imaging Specialty Chair for the ACR Appropriateness Criteria, and is a member of the joint American College of Cardiology (ACC) / ACR Appropriate Use Criteria Task Force oversight committee and the ACR Radiation Dose Executive Committee. He is Vice-Chairperson of the AMA PCPI committee on Cardiac Imaging Performance Measures and Co-Chairperson for joint ACC / ACR Measure for Imaging of Acute Chest Pain. He is the Senior Associate Editor of the International Journal of Cardiovascular Imaging and former charter member of the Biomedical Imaging Technology Study Section in the U.S. NIH Center for Scientific Review.
