Frank M. van der Sande, MD, PhD, associate professor, internist-nephrologist, is a clinician-scientist in the field of clinical research among others in dialysis patients. He is the medical director of the dialysis department Maastricht University Medical Centre. As a member of the Nephrology department, he studied the clinical impact of technological innovations in dialysis treatment, leading to various PhD theses and multiple publications.
He is a member of the executive committee of MONDO, a global epidemiologic initiative with a database of over 100,000 dialysis patients. He has at present published more than 215 international publications in the field of Nephrology (H-index 31) and wrote several chapters on Nephrology diseases in textbooks. He is a Eudial Board member (ERA-EDTA working group). He is a member of the editorial board for Kidney International and associate editor for BMC Nephrology.
