Francois Meyer MD

Dr. François Meyer currently serves the French National Authority for Health (HAS, Haute Autorité de Santé) as Advisor to the President and director of International Affairs. He joined the HAS in 2005 with the responsibility of setting up the Health Technology Assessment (HTA) Division, in charge of HTA activities for pharmaceuticals, medical devices, interventional and diagnostic procedures as well as public health actions and programs. . . Prior to joining the HAS, Dr. Meyer served 6 years as Deputy Director of the Medicines and Biologics Evaluation Division at the French Medicines Agency (Afssaps). He was a member of the Committee for Orphan Medicinal Products (COMP) at the European Medicines Agency from 2000 to 2002.. . Dr. Meyer joined the R&D department of an international pharmaceutical company in 1992, where he was quickly promoted from medical sponsor to group leader for oncology products.. François Meyer earned his MD degree from the University of Montpellier Medical School in France. He subsequently served the teaching hospitals of Montpellier as a practicing physician. Dr. Meyer is qualified in Endocrinology and Metabolic Disorders and Internal Medicine.
