Francois Mach MD

François Mach is the Head of Cardiology Division, University of Geneva Switzerland. He is the Professor, MD. François Mach is one of the major Experts in Europe in cardiovascular diseases and, in particular, in atherosclerosis. His research work was developed on in vitro, animal models and human beings, focusing on the immunological aspects of the pathophysiology of atherosclerosis and its complications. He clarified the role of new mediators (such a cannabinoids, CD40 ligand, chemokines) in atherosclerosis and acute myocardial infarction and contributed to identify the immunomodulatory activities and anti-atherosclerotic treatments, such as statins.
