Francisco Ruiz MD

Area Specialist Physician (FEA) in the specialty of Pulmonology. He has a doctorate in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Seville since April 1992. He is currently Head of the COPD and Respiratory Rehabilitation Section, of the Pulmonology Service of the “Virgen del Rocío” Hospital in Seville.

Principal Investigator of the research group recognized and financed by the Andalusian Research Plan of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Government of Andalusia since 1995. Research Group Coordinator: COPD, hypoxia, and respiratory rehabilitation, attached to the Institute of Biomedicine of Seville ( IBIS ). Component of a research group linked to the CIBER of Respiratory Diseases ( CIBERES ). Director of the Integrated Research Program (PII) of Respiratory Diseases and Rehabilitation of SEPAR. Principal investigator of more than 40 national and international research projects.

Clinical tutor at the University of Seville. Guest Professor in the Health Intervention in Smoking course. External professor with a Master's Degree in Biomedical Research. External professor with a Master's Degree at the University of Granada's expert in the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Accredited as a Contracted Doctor Professor with Clinical Links by the Andalusian Knowledge Agency of the Government of Andalusia. More than 500 presentations at conferences and more than 200 national and international publications.
