Francisco J. Jimenez-Carcamo, M.D., Ph.D., FACC, ASNC, is director of advanced heart failure and pulmonary hypertension at South Miami Hospital and a voluntary associate professor of medicine at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and clinical associate professor of medicine at Florida International University’s Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine. He obtained his medical degree and Ph.D. at the University of Alcala de Henares in Madrid, completed his residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in cardiology at Brown University, and completed fellowships in advanced heart failure/cardiac transplantation at the Cleveland Clinic and in interventional cardiology at Brown. Dr. Jimenez has published extensively and participated in multiple national and international clinical trials. He is board-certified in internal medicine, cardiology, interventional cardiology, nuclear cardiology, echocardiography and advanced heart failure and cardiac transplantation.
