Francisco Gondim MD, MSc, PhD, FAAN

Dr. Francisco Gondim completed his M.D. (1997), MSc. (1999) and Ph.D. in Pharmacology (2003) at the Universidade Federal do Ceará, Fortaleza, Ceará, Brazil. He presented a Habilitation thesis in Neurology (Livre Docência) at the Universidade de São Paulo, Faculdade de Medicina de Ribeirão Preto in 2009. In 2002, he completed his Neurology Residency at Saint Louis University, Missouri, USA, and subsequently 2 fellowships, one in Neurological Critical Care at Washington University School of Medicine (where was also served as Clinical Instructor in Neurological Critical Care) and a second in Clinical Neurophysiology at Cornell University, New York City, USA.

Dr. Francisco served as Professor Adjunto at the Universidade Federal do Ceará, Fortaleza, Brazil from 2004 to 2010. From 3/2010 to 2/2011 he was Associate Professor in Neurology at Saint Louis University, Missouri, USA. He was also Professor of Neurology and Neuropsychology at the Centro Universitário UniChristus, Fortaleza, Brazil. In 2012 he returned to Universidade Federal do Ceará and is currently Associate Professor in Neurology and Clinical Skills at the Universidade Federal do Ceará. He also has been working in several Scientific Departments at the Brazilian Academy of Neurology and is Associate Editor for BMC Neurology and Arquivos de Neuropsiquiatria.
