Dr. Francis (Frank) Arena was trained at one of the most renowned cancer centers in the world, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. To accomplish his mission of creating a Long Island-based office that would offer the level of cancer treatment practiced at Sloan-Kettering, he founded NYU Langone Arena Oncology in Lake Success, NY.

Dr. Arena is board certified in internal medicine and medical oncology. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Fordham University and his medical degree from Cornell University Medical College. His internship and residency were carried out at New York Hospital/Memorial Hospital, after which Dr. Arena served as Chief Medical Resident and later as a hematology/oncology fellow at the MemorialSloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Today Dr. Arena is a clinical associate professor of medicine at New York University and an adjunct clinical assistant professor of medicine at Cornell University Medical College.

Because of his keen interest in cancer research, Dr. Arena helped establish the SASS Foundation for Medical Research, which supports medical fellowships at a number of hospitals throughout the United States. Dr. Arena has been the recipient of multiple awards and recognitions. He is widely published and has lectured extensively in his field.
