Francesco Ugo Prada MD

Francesco Ugo Prada MD is a neurosurgeon and scientist at the Istituto Neurologico C.Besta in Milan, Italy. He is also a Senior Fellow at the Focused Ultrasound Foundation and Visiting Professor in the Department of Neurological Surgery, University of Virginia (USA) where he served two years as Assistant Professor.

He is the Director of the Acoustic Neuroimaging and Therapy Lab in Milan which focuses on both ultrasound-mediated imaging and therapy of the CNS. Main areas of research include the use of advanced ultrasound imaging for guidance of both surgery and US therapy, with a specific focus on microbubble imaging, blood-brain barrier opening, and son dynamic therapy. He is part of the clinical team at the Istituto C. Besta performing focused ultrasound treatments and he is also responsible for a clinical trial on son dynamic therapy to treat glioblastoma in humans.
