​Francesco Serino, MD, is a Staff Physician in the Heart and Vascular Institute at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. Serino held multiple roles at the Istituto Dermopatico Immacolata IRCCS, Rome, Italy, where he also established, and later directed the Endovascular Program. The program pioneered several procedures, including aortic endograft surgery, hybrid endo bypass surgery, and gene therapy. The center also performed the first AneuRX graft implant in the country and launched the first clinical research program on therapeutic angiogenesis. He also set up one of the most active centers for diabetic foot revascularization and limb salvage, performing innovative techniques, such as laser endarterectomy, absorbable stent technology, and Cranioplasty.

While working at Istituto Dermopatico Immacolata IRCCS, Dr. Serino performed more than 3,000 vascular interventions, served as Site Principal Investigator of 12 clinical research projects, completed 212 publications and presented as faculty in 128 national or international medical meetings. He also held roles as an Assistant Professor and Associate Consultant at the Catholic University Hospital, Rome. During his time serving at the Catholic University Hospital, Dr. Serino started one of the first diabetic foot surgery programs in Italy and the first endovascular program in Rome.
