Dr. Dazzi is the Chair of Stem Cell Biology in the Department of Medicine at Imperial College London.
Prof Dazzi obtained his degree at Padua University Medical School. where he also did his PhD in Experimental Oncology. He trained as a Haematologist at Verona University and in 1990 he became Consultant in the Department of Medicine at Padua University.
In 1996, he moved to the UK to join the Department of Haematology at the Hammersmith Hospital directed by Prof J Goldman who mentored his career together with the fundamental collaboration with Prof E Simpson from the nearby MRC Centre. During this period he developed one of the largest immunotherapy programme for leukaemia in the world and established animal models to investigate outstanding clinical problems.
