Dr. Florian Roser, MD, is Chair of the Neurological Institute at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. Roser was the Vice-Chairman/Chief-of-Staff at the Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Tubingen, Germany.

Dr. Roser is a board-certified neurosurgeon (Germany, UK, and UAE). He obtained his medical degree from the Johannes-Gutenberg-University in Mainz, Germany, and also studied in Morgantown, West Virginia, USA as well as in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Dr. Roser completed his residency in the prestigious Department of Neurosurgery, Hannover, Germany. He holds the position of Full Professor of Neurosurgery at the Faculty of Medicine at Eberhard-Karl’s University of Tübingen, Germany, and he serves as Professor of Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine at the Case Western Reserve University, Ohio, USA. He is also an Adjunct Professor at the Biomedical Engineering Faculty at Khalifa University, Abu Dhabi.

Dr. Roser is Editor-in-Chief of Clinical Neurology and Neurosurgery and Associate Editor for World Neurosurgery, both Elsevier Journals. He has authored over 107 peer-reviewed articles and 18 book chapters, mainly as first or senior author, and presented 160 lectures and 67 posters worldwide. He has received several research grants from prestigious institutions for basic molecular research on meningioma tissue, clinical research on diagnostics in Syringomyelia, and technical innovations in surgical anatomy.

Dr. Roser has performed more than 1,900 spine surgeries and 2,500 intracranial surgeries, with his main interest being in skull base and spinal cord procedures. He conducts live surgery, transmitted worldwide, regularly during instructional skull base and spine courses.
