Florian Heitz MD

Dr. Heitz is a gynecological oncologist and senior consultant in the Department for Gynecology and Gynecologic Oncology at Kliniken Essen-Mitte, Germany. Systemic treatment of patients with the gynecologic oncologic disease is his focus of interest. He is trained in the surgical treatment of patients with all kinds of gynecologic diseases, radical debulking surgery, and surgery for recurrent diseases. In addition, he is an active member of the AGO study group, a member of the executive board, and is involved in trial designs and finally recruitment of patients. His scientific field of interest includes clinical-surgical topics including patient selection and surgical outcome in patients with advanced ovarian cancer, in addition to translational, molecular-pathologic/ molecular-genomic analyses.
