Florian after completing his training in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine in 2000 and working as a consultant at the Department of Anaesthsia at the University Hospital in Aachen he moved to Cambridge in late 2001.
He have been working as a consultant in cardiothoracic anaesthesia and intensive care at Papworth Hospital since then. He have developed several new services, such as starting the unique Donor Care Physiologists project or setting up a fast track Cardiac Recovery Unit. Since 2014 he is the clinical business lead for the department. He have published over 30 original articles, numerous book chapters and 3 medical text books.
After 10 active years in the Society of Critical Care Medicine he chair the Networking Word Anesthesiology Convention (NWAC) since 2013. NWAC is a fast growing, global educational entity. NWAC is a professional anesthesiology organization of global reach, distinguished by unique transparency, philanthropic orientation, and a culture firmly embedded in education and networking.
