Dr. Finnian R. Mc Causland is nephrologist at Brigham and Women's Hospital, an Assistant Professor of Medicine and the Associate Director of the Master of Medical Sciences in Clinical Investigation (MMSCI) program at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Mc Causland received his MB, BCh, BAO degrees from University College Dublin in 2003. Following his general medical and higher specialist training in Ireland, he joined the Nephrology fellowship program at Brigham and Women's and Massachusetts General Hospitals in 2009. In 2012 he graduated from Harvard Medical School with a Masters in Medical Science Degree and joined the nephrology faculty at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Dr. Mc Causland's major research interest relates to the cardiovascular consequences associated with haemodialysis. He is the Principal Investigator of two ongoing randomized controlled trials related to the dialysate prescription and its effect on intra-dialytic blood pressure stability. He has received funding from the Irish Nephrology Society, National Kidney Foundation, American Heart Association and the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases.
