Filippos Kesisoglou PhD

Filippos Kesisoglou, Ph.D, Merck & Co., Inc: Filippos Kesisoglou is a Senior Investigator in the Product Value Enhancement (PVE) department, at Merck Research Laboratories, West Point, PA where he is leading the Modeling & Simulation Quantitative PVE and the Oral Biopharmaceutics efforts. His research work and responsibilities focus on the in vitro, in silico and in vivo biopharmaceutical evaluation of oral formulations across development phases, with special focus on the development and application of absorption modeling and its integration with both preclinical data and with other modeling and simulation tools in a cross-functional setting to facilitate formulation decisions. He serves as the biopharmaceutics subject matter expert in functional and cross-functional technical review committees and the global Solubilization and Controlled Release Centers of Excellence.

He holds a diploma in Pharmacy from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece and MSc and PhD degrees in Pharmaceutics from University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI. He has authored/co-authored more than a 15 scientific papers or book chapters and more than 20 meeting abstracts in the fields of biopharmaceutics, oral drug delivery and gene delivery. He has been an invited speaker to national/international workshops and meetings in the field of biopharmaceutics and absorption modeling
