Ferran Algaba Arrea MD, PhD

Dr. Ferran Algaba completed his Degree in Medicine from the Faculty of Medicine of the Autonomous University of Barcelona in 1974. Doctor of Medicine from the UAB in 1982. Specialist in Pathological Anatomy in 1977 (Hospital de la Santa Creu I Sant Pau with Prof. L. Galindo) and currently Head of Pathology at the Puigvert Foundation and Associate Professor at the Faculty of Medicine in the Department of Morphological Sciences at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB).

Member of the Spanish Society of Pathological Anatomy (SEAP). Member of the European Society of Pathology. Panel member for the WHO international classification for genitourinary tumors (2004) (2016). Member of the UICC Panel of Experts in Urology for the classification of TNM. Consultant Member of the European Society of Urology for guidelines for action in testicular tumors. Consultant member of ICUD for prostate and bladder pathology. Chairman of Kidney Cancer Pathology at the 2010 ICUD meeting. Pathology Consultant of the EORTC genitourinary group. Member of the International Society of Urogenital Pathology (ISUP) and of the panels of Kidney Cancer, Testicular Tumors, Gradation of prostate cancer. Member of the International Academy of Pathology. Member of the European Society of Urology. Member of the Spanish Society of Urology.

He is the author of 255 articles referred to in PUBMED. He has edited 5 books and is the author of chapters in 49 books. He has lectured at various congresses, symposiums, national and international meetings as a visiting professor, as well as in university hospitals around the world.
