Dr. Fernando Joglar is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine. He completed his bachelor’s degree in molecular biology at Princeton University, class of 1994. He went on to the UPR School of Medicine to obtain his medical degree in 1998. He completed his Surgery Residency at the UPR General Surgery Residency Program in the year 2004. During surgical residency he participated in a Surgical Research Fellowship at the UPR School of Medicine and at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX.

Upon completion of his residency Dr. Joglar joined the faculty at the UPR Department of Surgery, and he was appointed Sub-Director of the San Juan Trauma Center, a position which he held from 2004-2008. He then completed a two year Vascular Surgery Fellowship at Boston University School of Medicine in 2010. During his fellowship he received various awards for his research including the 2010 Sigvaris Traveling Fellowship.
