Felipe Teran MD, MSCE, FACEP, is a physician-scientist, educator, and entrepreneur. He is currently an attending physician and researcher in Emergency Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine. Previously he served as Director of the Research Division of Emergency Ultrasound and Associate Director at the Center for Resuscitation Science at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Teran trained in Emergency Medicine and completed a fellowship in Point of Care Ultrasound at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City, a Master of Science in Clinical Epidemiology (MSCE) at the University of Pennsylvania, and is a testamur of the National Board of Echocardiography Critical Care Echocardiography Examination. He has published extensively in the areas of resuscitation, ultrasound, echocardiography, and emergency critical care and has given over 80 presentations nationally and internationally, including multiple keynotes and plenary lectures. Dr. Teran's work focuses on emergency and critical care ultrasound, transesophageal echocardiography (TEE), and cardiac arrest resuscitation. Dr. Teran has been an advisor and scientific consultant for multiple companies in healthcare including point-of-care ultrasound, echocardiography, high-fidelity simulation, and artificial intelligence (AI). He has directed workshops for the World Interactive Network Focused On Critical UltraSound (WINFOCUS) and the Society of Academic Emergency Medicine (SAEM) and the Emergency Medicine Resident’s Association (EMRA). He is the founder of the Resuscitate TEE Project, a multidisciplinary initiative aimed to advance the field of TEE across acute care settings, and currently serves as chair of the Resuscitative TEE Collaborative Registry, an international multicenter research consortium that aims to accelerate the development of outcome-oriented research and knowledge translation on the use of TEE in emergency and critical care settings. He is course director of the Resuscitative TEE Workshop, an international course that has trained over 1000 physicians globally
