Felipe Casanueva PhD

Dr. Felipe F. Casanueva received his medical degree from the Universidad Complutense in Madrid, Spain. After completing his medical training and his PhD in Madrid, he started his Post-Doc first in Milan (Italy) where he joined the group of Prof. Eugenio Muller, and then in Winnipeg (Canada), where he finish it, working with Prof. Henry Friesen. He has served as President of the European Society of Endocrinology (ESE) and currently is the chairman of the Executive Committee of the International Society of Endocrinology (ISE). He is member of several other academic societies and serves on the editorial board of numerous journals, with more than 410 peer-reviewed papers to his name. Dr. Casanueva also serves as the Editor-in-Chief of Obesity and Metabolism.

Currently, he is Prof. of Medicine at Santiago de Compostela University and Head of the Endocrinolgy and Nutrition Division of the Complejo Hospitalario Universitario de Santiago de Compostela, Spain.
